چکیده

Abstract STUDY QUESTION Are serum levels of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) normal in patients with functional hypothalamic anovulation (FHA)? SUMMARY ANSWER Our study confirms that the general FHA population, AMH are not decreased, but if polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM) excluded, become significantly lower, as other situations gonadotropic insufficiency. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY In most low LH (physiological, pharmacological or pathological), low. However, paradoxically, many publications have reported even increased patients. DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION Retrospective observational conducted an academic centre. The data concerning population was collected between 2006 and 2015 from a database including clinical, biological ultrasound information. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS A total 45 were compared to 37 controls matched based on age body mass index (BMI). Serum LH, FSH, androstenedione, testosterone, prolactin measured by immunoassay. We defined PCOM strict criteria: follicle number per ovary (FNPO) ? 12 19 ovary, depending date which assessment carried out device. An level 35 pmol/l could be substitute for excess FNPO. Controls meeting these criteria included this study. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE There no significant difference ranges controls. Using define status, 46.7% had PCOM. After excluding patients, lower (P < 0.002) Within group, higher ranks BMI than those without within PCOM+ subgroup, FSH still 0.0001, <0.002 <0.05, respectively). positive correlation group. PCOM+, there strong LH. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION This is retrospective study; our did represent they recruited ART centre; we used modified classification using count and/or in-house thresholds excess; assay longer commercially available. WIDER IMPLICATIONS FINDINGS Besides biasing results presence despite gonadotropin androgen raises issue epigenetically acquired amplification sensitivity granulosa cells ovaries. terms clinical practice, it seems important diagnose reserve too quickly basis decreased alone. On contrary, high context menstrual disorder should lead misdiagnosis syndrome (PCOS) basal FUNDING/COMPETING INTEREST(S) None TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER N/A

Live Birth Rate following Intrauterine Insemination in Women with Low or Very Low Level of Serum Anti-müllerian Hormone

Background: While anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level allows quantitative evaluation of ovarian reserve, its predictive value for live births following assisted reproductive technology cycles has remained controversial. The aim of the present study was to assess the importance of AMH in predicting live birth following intrauterine insemination (IUI) in the case of low or very lo...

Anti-Müllerian hormone serum level and other markers associated with pregnancy outcome in oocyte donation

BACKGROUND Oocyte donation is a medical technique used principally for woman with ovarian failure. Optimizing donor recruitment is essential to obtain the best results with this technique. Understanding how donor parameters influence outcome for the recipients is fundamental. The aim of this study was to determine whether clinical and/or biological parameters in the donors influence the chance ...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Anti-Müllerian hormone concentrations in maternal serum during pregnancy.

BACKGROUND In females, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is expressed only by the ovary. AMH is secreted by the granulosa cells of ovarian follicles and appears to regulate early follicle development. AMH is detected in serum from women of reproductive age and its levels vary slightly with the menstrual cycle, reaching the peak value in the late follicular phase. This study investigated serum AMH le...

Psychological stress is related to a decrease of serum anti-müllerian hormone level in infertile women

BACKGROUND Stress exposure has been proved to be linked to reproductive failure. The reproductive potential of women depends on the ovarian reserve. Anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) has been proved a reliable clinical marker of ovarian reserve. However, the correlation between psychological stress and AMH level is not clear. METHODS A cross-sectional study including 576 women was conducted. AMH c...
